Dear Sir,

Conservative Club,

St. James' Street, London, S.W.

12th December, 1916.

564

We have to report the result of our endeavours

in the matter originally confided to us by your letter of

the 8th May and your telegram of the 15th June.

Our commission was to negotiate the details of

an agreement which had been come to between the Hongkong

War Charities Committee and the War Office through the

Colonial office.

When we received your telegram of the 15th June,

our information regarding the terms of this Agreement was

confined to that contained in your letter of the 8th May.

With that letter you enclosed copies of telegrams which had

been exchanged up to then and from these we saw that when

your Committee first approached the War office, through

the Colonial Office, they were advised to offer a contribu-

tion to the Royal Flying Corps Hospital.

Your Committee

The Honorary Secretary,

Hongkong War Charities Committee,

HONGKONG.
