February the 28th, 1917.
In further reference to the letter from the
Department of November the 1st, 1915, the Nursing Committee
I have pleasure in recommending Miss M.Moylan to the Secretary
of State, as a suitable candidate for appointment to the
Private Staff of Hong Kong, in succession to Miss M.Wood.
Miss Moylan has been known to the Committee since
In the same 1913, when her name was placed on the books.
year she was selected by them for the post of Private Nurse
at the Hatton Nursing Home, Ceylon, where she completed a
three years' agreement most satisfactorily. On her return
recently to this country, the Committee again selected her
for the post of Private Nurse in Perak, Federated Malay States,
but owing to the subsequent refusal of the Passport Authorities
to issue Passports to any private Nurse, her appointment has
had to be cancelled. Previous to this, however, she had
been medically examined by Dr.Daniels as to her physical
fitness for work in Perak, and the Committee venture to hope
that this medical certificate may suffice for Hong Kong, and,
therefore, beg to enclose it herewith, together with her
application form and papers.
Miss Moylan is prepared to leave England as soon

as required.
I am,
sir.
Your obedient servant
I'mence DacoRing
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office,
Chairman, Nursing Committee.
