I refer to the same principle in the case of Colonial officers; and Mr. C.B. Eaglehurst is being informed accordingly that his bonuses from the 1st April 1917 will be included in the calculation of his naval pay for determining his civil salary.

With reference to the letter from this Department of the 6th Dec. (67753) regarding the bonus paid to officers on the Emergency List, R.N., it has been decided that, in cases arising in connection with the Home Office, a weekly payment of bonus from the 3rd Aug. 1917 would be treated as part of his naval pay in determining the amount of the civil salary (if any) which the officer would receive.
