(REC. CP 17

22nd September, 1917.

With reference to your letter (44710/1917) of the 14th

September, transmitting copies of correspondence relative to

trade marks registered in Hong Kong in the joint names of Messrs

Soc

Bol

18462 ты. General

W. & C. Dunlop and Kessrs. Meyerink and Company, I am directed

by the Board of Trade to state that they adhere to the view

which was expressed in their letter of February 19th 1916 (C4726)

that in the case of Trade Marks registered in the joint names of

enemy firme and English firms the best course to adopt is to sell

the joint interest of the foreign firm to the English joint

owner, and that they regret that this course should not be

adopted in the present instance.

The Under Secretary of State,

Colonial Office.

I have the honour to be, Sir,

obedient Servant,
