Nationality.

With reference to the attached correspondence No.

848080/15.

I beg to report having on the 2nd August

seen John NEBEL, the father of the man referred to at No. 62 Bungalow Road, South Norwood.

Rebel

He stated his son Werner Rudolph/was born at Carlton

on the 20th January 1892.

Nebel's three daughters are all married, the eldest to a Scotchman, the 2nd to an Englishmen, and the young- est to a Frenchman, they are all in business but neither

are British Officers.

There is no proof that Werner ever volunteered for the Army and was medically rejected. His father states

that it is an established fact that he had to leave Wool-

wich Dockyard through unpleasantness owing to hie Germen

parentage.

It is correct that he changed his name by Deed Poll in September 1915 to Noble.

His father has never been naturalised but in Ocotber

1914 made un application.
