In reply to your letter of 11th ultimo (34092/1917)

forwarding a copy of a despatch with enclosures from the

Governor of Hong Kong in the case of W. R. Noble I am

directed by Secretary Sir George Cave to forward you for the information of Mr. Secretary Long a copy of a report

of the Metropolitan Police in the matter.

I am to add that on 2nd October. 1915 Noble embarked

at Tilbury on S.S. Nemur en route to Hong Kong, and that

if, as appears to be the case, he has said in Hong Kong (1) that his father is naturalized, (2) that his sistere

are married to British Officers his statements are not

borne out by the report.
