Jacobson Van den Berg & Co., Rot terdan, write to their Semarang branch respecting 64 bales of white printing paper shipped per 8.8. "Sithonia" (German) in July 1914 which they have been offered at uks.42 per 100 kilos net cash in Rotterdam. They have received a sample from a commission house in Brussels, but it is very small and they are sending part of it to Sperabaya and part to Batavia.
if addressees are intereste in the offer, or any part of it, they are to cable; full details of the messages desired, the goods referred to being given in the latter. This paper was all marked. & H. Hongkong, and is lying at Sabang on board the Sithonia", which is interned there.
At the conclusion of their letter writers atate that the Mark rate of exchange is at the moment 37, and as the conditions of payment are net cash in Fotterdam it will have to be borne in mind that the German Government insists upon a fixed rate of 60.
