Owing to disturbances in the Betherlands Zast Indies and the motivity of british Indian revolution-

krien, stops have been taken by both the Governmen k

concerned to restrict the area traffic in the Far

East.

The Government of the Betherlaīda fast

Indies have prohibited as from the let of January,

1917, the import into that territory or all firearmną

gumporder, and ammunition exempt for their own use, and in special cases allowed by the Governor General,

and His Majesty'a Covernment have recently decided

that,in future, applications for licences for the

export of arms and amunition (including supplies

far sporting purposes) from the United King;don to

neutral destinations in the Far East will only

receive consideration if they are redderendeɑ by the

locul British Consular Officer. This decision will

not, however, be publisnou, and a redom, ezastion by.
