Dear Sir,
I beg to refer to the cargo ex the German steamship
"Bayer" at Naples, which has been requisitioned by the Italian Goverment,, and to say that the Italian Government
have now finally approved claims for payment in respect
of goods requisitioned by the following firms, uut stip-
ulate that our Naples Agent presente & consular declaration showing the names and nationality of the various firs to whom payments belong.
Que declaration required is that of the British Consul
at Naples.
I beg to say that efforts have been made to induce the
Italian Goverment to withdraw this requirement and to ac-
cept an affidavit either by the parties concerned or by
the Lordon Chamber of Commerce, but these efforts have
failed, and the Italian Authorities insist on the consular
declaration
In these circumstances, I shall be much ovliged if yuta
will kindly instruct the British Consul at Naples to issue, or application by our Agents lessrs. Holme & Son, at
Kaples
