I have the honour to enclose for your

information a copy of a letter which we have received

from the Government of Hong Kong, together with a copy

of correspondence that has taken place between this

office and the Indo-China team Navigation Coy. respecting

Ir. C.J.Tacchi, Overseer, P.W.D.Hong Kong.

2. I shall be glad to know whether the nature of

the work undertaken by Mr. Tacchi is such as to entitle

him to a Colonial allowance in accordance with the

Secretary of State's circular despatch. of the 21st August

1914, and if so whether his allowance should be based on

his naval pay of £13.13.0 per month +25 war bonus.
