the 30th of Sept. 1915 the securities you held against
the H.K. and S. Note Issue amounted to 2808,500
plus Rs. 1,500,000.

I regret that our valuation was not quite correct and I enclose an amended valuation which should be substituted for the one enclosed in our letter of the 20th July.
This shows that the value of our holding now is really 2280, 572.
The reduction in the securities held was explained
in our letter to the C.0. of the 28th February last. In pursuance of a telegram from the Government of Hong Kong instructing us to release £450,000, we then handed back to the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank
