I have the honour to encloss for your information
copy of a letter which this Chamber is forwarding to the Post
Master General, London dealing with the question of British
Postul Agencies in China.
My Committee understand that the Imperial
Authorities are considering the withdrawal of these Agencies,
and desire to record their emphatic protest against any such
zotion, sinos not erly do the Agencies for a not inconsider-
able source of revenus but they are an undoubted protection
to Britisà commercial correspondence passing between the
Treaty Ports of China and the various parts of the British
Empire.
