From the officer Administering the Government of Hongkong to the Secretary of State for the Colonies. (Received Colonial Office 1.10 p.m., 13th December, 1917)
Following received from Unofficial Members
of both Councils,
"We request officer Administering the Government to send at once £10,000 for the relief of the sufferera in Halifax, Nova Scotia with the sympathy of Hongkong in the terrible disaster which has befallen them,"
This gift is justified by financial condition of the Colony and I would ask that if you approve instructions may be given to Crown Agents to remit money to Halifax with an expression deep sympathy of this Colony. Please reply by telegraph.
