GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
12th. December, 1917.
Sir,
I have the honour to submit for the
signification of His Majesty's plansure the following
Ordinance intituled:- ·
2.
An Ordinance to regulate Ferries. No. 28 of 1917.
The report of the Attorney-General enclosed
explains the object of this Ordinance which has been in
contemplation for nearly four years but the outbreak of
war caused the matter to be postponed. When the bill was
before the Legislative Council I agreed to a request of the
Un-official Members that the Regulations to be made under
Section 5 of the Ordinance, which has already been drafted,
should be considered by a Committee, but I am awaiting the
return of Sir F. H. May before taking any further action
in the matter.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
Clanstever
Officer Administering the Government.
