As no acting appointments have as yet been made in
order to fill the temporary vacancy that has been created
by the abaanca, on leave of Mr. Churchill, 1st. Assist. D.P.V.,
and as under similar conditions I have been appointed to sat
LA 2nd. Assist. D.P.7., I beg to ask that I may again be
allowed to act in that capacity.
I would point out thet I am the senior executive
Enginǝǝr having been appointed in January 1902 after acting
continuous service in that capacity since August 1900.
I have been in receipt of the maximum salary of
my grade since 1911.
I have acted as 2nd. Assist. D. P. W. during the
following periods. 1913. May 27th. to August 31st. 1914.
March 3rd. to December 30th. 1915. Faby. 25th. to 1916 Feby
23rd. I may further mention that owing to Mr. Churchill
having to undergo an operation to his eye I undertook the
duties of 1st. Assist. D. P. V. in eddition to those of 2nd.
Assist. D. P. W. from the 13th. January to the 23rd. Faby.

I beg you will forward this latter for the favourablə
consideration of H. E. the Governor and further that should
H. E. Judge the appointment to be of sufficiant impertence
for submission to the Secretary of State for the Oclonisa
this letter may be likewise forzarded for his consideration.
