I conveyed to you my approval of the
Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure of
&
Hong Kong of the year 191 and to inform
you that His Majesty will not be advised
to exercise his power of disallowance
with respect of Ordinance No.26 of 1917-
of the Colonial Legislature, entitled
"An Ordinance to apply a sum not
exceeding $8,368,910 to the public
service of the year 1918".
2. I desire to convey to you an
expression of my high satisfaction
at the continued prosperity of the
Colony and at the prospect of so large
a surplus in the forthcoming year.
