NEW GOVERNMENT BUILDING, DES VOUX ROAD, HONGKONG, 24th July, 1916.
Chas. J. Gaupp & Co. SIR, With reference to our letter to you of the 25th May last in connection with the proposed merger of the Hongkong and Singapore liquidations of the above firm, we shall be glad to hear from you as to any decision arrived at by Government in this matter.
In this connection, we are enclosing herein original of a letter from Mrs. A. Bunje, administratrix of the Estate of the late Mr. Bunje, a local creditor for the sum of $10,000.
It may be of interest to you to know that arrangements have been made with the Pacific Mail Steamship Co. to take over the premises of the firm as from the 1st Septem- ber next at the same rental now payable by ourselves. The landlord was a party to the
arrangement.
The question of damages in respect of the lease will, therefore, not arise in this liquidation.
We are making arrangements with the view to the sale of all unsold stock by auction on or about the 15th August next.
