In continuation of my Confidential Despatch
of the 12th of May, 1916, I have the honour to transmit
the enclosed return of seizures of raw opium from the 15th
of April, 1916, to date.
The total quantity seized in the period is
101,148 taels or 8429 lbs.
It is satisfactory to note that the
smuggling on a large scale from England in the steamers
of the Ocean Steamship Company appears to have ceased.
