The Harbour Haster recommends this on the
clear understanding that the resignation from the Government Service is accepted. Telegraph offering Mr. Daily's service?
(Sd.) M. Fletcher.
2.
Hon. Colonial Secretary,
25.11.16.
If the Harbour Master can spare Mr. Daily he can go for service in Mesopotamia, but I see no reason why he should resign the service. He could be granted leave without pay. Perhaps I had better see the Harbour Laster on the matter early
next week.
Harbour Master,
(Sd.) C. Severn.
25.11.16.
It was decided that Mr. Daily might be granted
leave without pay on the understanding that no post above that
of Second Boarding Officer would be held open for him,
Does he wish to go on these terms?
