I am directed to forward for the observations
of your Committee & copy of a letter received from the Commodore
with reference to your report of the 12th. June, and to request
the comment of your Committee thereon.

It is understood that the Superintendent of
Imports and Exports has furnished you with statistics of the trade
of this Colony during the first five months of the present year,
and I am to enquire whether these statistics oause the Committee
to modify in any way the conclusions they have indicated in their
report of the 8th. instant, on the subject of the British tomage
which may be withdrawn from Far Eastern trade.
