That they advocate the maintenance of the British Imperial of Commerer Council/with a view to assisting Commercial and Industrial intereste throughout the Empire, either in consultation with the Chambers of Commerce or the British Consular Officials, or in any other way which may be considered advisable.

My Committee also understand that an another committee on cur Commercial and Industrial Policy, of which Sir Frederick Fisher is also a member, has issued an Interim Report. It was formed to

consider:-

(a) What industrise are essential to the future safety of the nation and what steps would be taken to maintain and establish them. (b) What steps should be taken to recover home and foreign trade lost during the war and to secure new markets.

(o) To what extent and by what means the resources of the ampire should and can be developed.

(d) To what extent and by what means the scurces of supply within the Empire can be prevented from falling under foreign control.

My Committee would be glad to learn if the Government have received a copy of this interim report.
