I regret to report that I have this after-
noon suspended Mr. P. A. V. Remedics from his duties pending
further instruction from His excellency.
Mr. Remedios has been absent from the office
since Tuesday morning. I asked Dr. McKennie to visit him on
Tuesday and he was then under the effect of drink. I have
the ordered him both yesterday and today to come to office but he
has not done Bc.
He has failed to keep a sclemn promise
he made to me after his last lapse and his only excuse, if
indeed it be an excuse, seems to be that he has the misfortune
to live with a drunken sponger called Morrison, who is much
atronger headed than Remedios and induces him to drink,
dismissed.
