Staff, in which event, her service for pension will begin from the
date of her first appointment as a probationer nurse. A nurse will
be required to enter into an agreement with the Colonial Govern-
-ment to serve for two years as a "Nurse" at an annual salary of
$840.00 for the first year and $900 for the second year together
with furnished quarters, attendance, uniform, and fuel and light.
6. A "Nurse" will undergo systematic training during this
period of her service.
7. A "Nurse" after the completion of two years service as such may be advanced to the grade of "Staff Nurse", provided her service
has been satisfactory, at a salary of £100 rising to £110 per annum by an annual increment of £10 with furnished quarters,
attendance, fuel and light, and uniform.
8. On the completion of one year's service as a "Staff Nurse"
she may be promoted to be a "Nursing Sister" on the occurrence of
a vacancy, and on the same terms as regarde salary &c. as may be
in existence for "Nursing Sisters".

Probationers, nurses, md staff nurses will as a rule perfor eight hours duty daily, but if necessary, may be called upon for
extra duty. They may be employed at any of the hospitals of the
Government, and will be under the orders of the medical officer
and under the general supervision and direction of the matron and
nursing sisters of the hospital to which they are attached.
10. Probationers, nurses, and staff nurses will be subject to the
rules and regulations governing the Hongkong Civil Service and
will enjoy such rights of leave, pension, etc. as they may be
entitled to under such rules and regulations.
