An Ordinance to provide for the registration
and regulation of Indian Watchmen.
Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Indian Watch Short title.

"Indian" includes all natives of British India, of the Native States of India, of Baluchistan and of Afghanistan ;
No. 16 of 1911.
"Money-leuler" shall have the some meaning as Ordinance
in the Money-lenders Ordinance, 1911. "Watchman " includes every person who is employel to protect any particular property or to maintain order in any particular place.
3. Indian watchmen may be registered at the Contral Registration Police Station as members of the Indian Watchmen Force,
and such force shall be under the control and discipline
of the Captain Saperintendent of Police.

registered as a member of the Indian Watchmen Force.
(2.) No person shall employ or continue to employ any unregistered Indinu as a watchman or to perform any of the duties of a watchman, whether such duties be combined with any other duties or not.
5. The Captain Superintendent of Police shall have Admission power in his discretion, subject to an appeal to the Gover- to and re- nor in Council, to refuse to register any person as An
moval from Indian wateliman, or to remove any person from the
register, register of Indian watchmen.
6(1) It shall be lawful for the Captain Superinten Discipline. dent of Police or the Deputy Superintendent of Police to punish any Indian watchman found guilty by him of beglees of duty, disobedience to orders, or other miscondnet, with a fine not exceeding ton dollars, and to deduct such fine from any money then or thereafter in his hands payable to such watebinan.
(2.) All such fines shall be paid into the Treasury and shall be applied to such purposes in connection with the Indian Watchmen Force as the Governor nay from time to time direct,
7.-(1.) It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council Regulations. to make regulations for the following purposes:-
(a) fixing the wages and other sums payable by the employers of Indian watchmen, and the appropriation of portions of such wages and other sums for provision of passage money, deferred pay, or such other objects as the Governor in Council shall think 86;
(6) making and altering grades and ranks of Indian
watchmon :
(c) regulating the conditions of employment and
service of Indian watchmen ;
(d) providing for the discipline and control of
Indian watchman;
(e) imposing duties and obligations on employera
of Indian watchmen;
() generally for the purpose of carrying out this
