Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 3rd. instant
(No.1306/1917) I have the honour to report that at a meeting of
the Un-official Members of both Councils at which all Members,
with the exception of Hon. Mr. Pollock, were present, and at
which Mr. Pollock had requested Hon. Mr. Holyoak to represent
him, the subject matter was again thoroughly discussed and the
following resolutions were passed:-
(1) We approve in principle a recommendation to the Secretary of State that the Government should grant to the YM.C.A. a lease on special terms of a building site, for the purpose (if required) of their proposed premises.

(2) We disapprove of such site being any part of the old
Post Office area at the corner of Queen's Rond and Pedder Street.
Unanimous, except Mr. Holyoak and Mr. Pollock,
(3) We approve of an offer being made to the YM.C.A. of such site in Kowloon near the ferry at the corner of Salisbury
and Hankow Ronds; and if this should not meet their needs, we suggest that they propose some other site for our consideration.
