Sir,
With reference to your letter
No. 10/2353 (F.l.a) of the 29th December,
1916, I am directed by Mr. Secretary Long
to request you to lay before the Army
Council the accompanying copy of a
despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong
regarding the military contribution from
the Colony, and to say that he would be
glad to receive any observations which
the Army Council may desire to offer in
the matter.

I am to enquire whether a
return of the total cost of the garrison

for the year 1915 can be supplied, a
