PARAPHRASE TELEGRAM
From the Governor of Hong Kong to the Secretary of
State for the Colonies.

With reference to my telegram Larch 30th
Artificers for East Africa can be obtained immediately
but only on scale of payment as follows springmiths
seventy Mexican dollars per month Carpenters sixty
but number one chargeman seventyfive, tinemi the
seventy, motor mechanics or general fitters seventy,
but number one chargeman ninety, turners seventy, vulcanizers (only repair tyres) seventy, interpreters
fifty, engine-withe seventy, cooks thirtyfive, Extra
pay on Sundays, Free passages out and back. Other
conditions as in my cypher telegram March 30th. I
should be glad to have immediate telegraphic reply.
