Referring to lir. Bonar Law's Confidential
Despatch of the 9th. November, I have the honour to report that at the instance of Sir Richard Dane and of Mr.. Harris, Commissioner of Chinese Customs, I have agreed to certain slight amendments in Clause II of the Anglo- Chinese Customs Agreement, show underlined in red in the enclosed six copies of the Agreement.

I attach also copies of correspondence
regarding the attaching of a clerk nominated by the Salt Commissioner of Kwongtung to the Hongkong Office of the Chinese Customs, together with an extract from the minutes of the Executive Council, explanatory of the matter.
