"Referring to my letter No. 181 we are informed it has been decided Norwegian stoomers building here will be chartered to British firms at comparatively low rates during period war -stop · To have represented to Governamt here that in view of largs quantities Government cargo carried by us especially from India at requisition rates and difficulty in maintaining Calcutta line owing to loss of "Levat" while under requisition and inability British India supply their share tonnage swing to requisition also in view of we have supplied “Hmgsang" "Laisang" requisition cherter terms we claim our Company should have every consideration- stop- We have pointed out bulk our trade betwem British ports othế parties chiefly China ports -stop - In view of steamers "Rajaburi " "Quarta" obtained from Home Authorities by Swires and other steamers by Straits Companies we consider imediate representations should be made Authorities London -step- In event of difficulty arising through Owners unwilling complete constructions it might be arranged our Company provide funds for completion on agreed terms, keep us advised".
