To me it is indeed unbelievable how anyone can come forward

In fact, if the Bank did mysteriously possess all these par-

ticulars about a business belonging to others about a cargo in regard to which the bank's sole function is that of collecting monies for ac- count of another, an American bank how is it that they did not know the most important fact of all, namely that you were absolutely debarred from approaching the Texas Company, nay from even only accepting the

agency when offered to you?

I, for one, am certain (even though I fear that war-madness

is still prevalent in Hongkong) that the Bank has acted as it did upon

the instigation and misrepresentation of some one acting on your behalf;
