Dear MW. Bonar daw.
28th May 1916
I have received from Hongkong a copy of the
petition to the Colonial Office that the Public should
be accorded more representation and influence in regard
to both Legislation and Administration.. The petition is accompanied by a letter from Mr Henry Pollook K.C., a
cousin of E.H.Pollock.
1 quite remember a movement of the same kind
about 20 years ago when a request of a somewhat similar nature was refused, but things have moved a great deal in China since then, and new considerations have arisen.
If you would prefer to make a statement in reply
to a question, I will put one down or if the time be inopportune, might I ask for a short interview or for a letter bich I can send out to Hongkong to show that I
have put forward the cage.
12. How.
