I have the honour to acknowledge with thanks the letter from the Department of yesterday's date, stating that kiss E.Newton has been requested to apply to the Colonial Nursing Association regarding the appointment on the Nursing Staff of the Civil Hospital, Hong Kong.

I beg to say, however, that on Miss Newton's
arrival in England, she called here and received the terma of Hong Kong and the Federated Kalay States. After due
consideration, she wrote applying for the latter, preferring this to Hong Kong, and her papers recommending her for the
