Sir,
I am directed by Mr. Secretary Bonar Law to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 27th ultimo,
respecting the temporary employment in the Hong Kong Post Office of Mr. J.H. Cooper, Sorting Clerk and Telegraphist in the General Post Office,
2. I am to request you to suggest to the Postmaster General that there seems to be some doubt whether the temporary employment of Mr. Cooper has been in the Hong Kong Post Office if so arranged, as to make any alteration in his position with regard to civil pension. He appears to be still technically on Army property and liable to be recalled for service at any moment; so subject to the conditions under which he joined the Army. The temporary work at Hong Kong is a mere incident in
