Sir,

With further reference to your communication of the 12th instant (45178), I am directed by Viscount Grey of Fallodon to request that Mr. Secretary Bonar Law will cause telegraphic instructions to be sent, should no objection be seen, to the Governor of Hong Kong to release the cargo detained at that port ex S.S. "Kafue".

This Department has been informed that cargo has been detained at Hong Kong, it is understood on similar grounds, ex S.S. "Aymeric", and I am to request that, should this information be well grounded, instructions may similarly be sent for the release of the cargo so detained, should this not have been done on some ground other than that in the case of the "Kafue.

I am,

Sir,

humble Servant.
