With reference to your letter of the 4th instant,
(35124/1916) enclosing copy of a despatch from the
Governor of Hong Kong relating to the detention of a
shipment consigned to Messrs. Viegelmann & Co, of Manila,
I am directed by Viscount Gray of Fallodon to transmit hae-
with, to be laid before the Secretary of State for the
Colonise, copy of a telegram which has been sent to Kis
Liajesty's Consul-General at Manila, from which it will be
seen that 6 cases have been detained ex S.S. "Antilochus"
5.5. in addition to those detained ex "wentor".

In view of the fact that these shipments were paased
by the British Custome, Lord Grey has caused the consignra
to be informed that he will raise no objection to the
release of the goods provided that the Bill of Lading is
handed over duly endorsed by Messrs, Viegelmann to Mr.Samuel
Murray, who will also be required to give guarantees as to
the ultimate destination of the goods.
I am accordingly to request that, if r.Secretary
Bonar Law Bees no objection, Instructions may be sent to
the Governor of Hong Kong, by telegraph if possible, to
release the goods in question upon receipt of advice from
His Majesty's
