With reference to your letter of the 21st instant, No 34326/16, in which you transmitted copy of a telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong, relative to the export of Cocoanut Oil and Linseed Oil to Bangkok and Sourabaya respectively, I am instructed by the Director of the War Trade Department to state, for the information of Mr. Secretary Bonar Law, that this Department has no objection to the export of the 500 piculs of China Cocoanut Oil to Bangkok.
I am to add that in the absence of particulars as to its origin, a recommendation cannot be made in respect of the Linseed Oil and to enquire whether your Department will obtain the necessary information.
