3 JUL 16
sir,
With reference to your letter No.28784/1916,
dated the 23rd. ultimo, I am directed by Secretary
Sir E. Grey to state, for the information of Mr.
Secretary Bonar Law, that he sees no objection to
the feathers in question being shipped by the Nordisk
Fjerfabrik from Hongkong to a port in the United
Kingdom, on the understanding that this shipment is
permitted without prejudice to the ultimate decision
of His Majesty's Government as to the issue of an
export licence for these goods from this country to
Denmark. As Mr. Bonar Law is no doubt aware, the
export of chicken feathers either is, or is about to
be, prohibited.
I am,
Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
:
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office,
S.W.
CONTROLLER.
