REC! REG! 3 JUN 16,

With reference to my letter of the

-

13th inet, I just saw in a local library an official notification to the effect that Bume & Reif of Hongkong should not have been included in the list of firme under liquidation. It appears that they were in the first instance ordered to be liquidated, but subsequently a licence to trade was granted to Mr.B.eif, who is a British subject the order for the liquidation was revoked and the business allowed to be carried on by an agent under power of attorney from Ar.Reif.-

To show you how the Authorities are very often misled and their decisions in many cases strike the wrong party, as it happens to be with your humble servant, I would give you in strict confidence and privacy the following details. Some 6 weeks ago I learned that a German called bume of the Hamburg firm Bume & Reif came specially to dolland to buy Dutoh goods for import into Germany and it was reported that he was an enterprising contractor, who did a large business with

the German Government and other Authorities. There you have apparently a Germen, who, while being a partner of the so called British firm is in all appearances doing an enormous business with the greatest enemy of Great Britain and when the war will be over he will be able to quietly continue his business under the cloak of his British house.

ages like that are abundant.-

I simply bring this before you, so that you personally do not think that I have been playing the fool. I still cherish the hope that the Authorities will in due course mete out justice to me.-

Yours sincerely.-
