With reference to your letter of the 11th instant, No. 15877/16, and previous correspondence
with regard to the proposed shipment of 100 tons
of Hong Kong Tallow, I am instructed by the Director
of the War Trade Department to state for the
information of Mr. Secretary Bonar Law that this
Department is of opinion that in view of the fact
that this Tallow is a produce of the British Empire
permission to export should not be granted.
