Sir,
I am directed by Secretary Sir Ürey to transmit herewith for the consideration of the War Trade Department a copy of a letter received from Messrs. Arkell and Douglas, of 22 Exchange Place, New York, and 40 Old Broad Street, London, regarding the suspicions entertained against them by His Majesty's Government. Sir L. Gray would be glad to receive any observations which the Chairman of the Trade Clearing House may wish to make on this subject.
A copy of this letter is being sent to the Home Office.
