Were the export restrictions now in force in British Colonies and Protectorates to be applied to the re-export of goods, not of British Imperial origin, it would appear probable, in Mr. Lloyd George's opinion, that the trade of entrepots such as Hong-Kong in such goods would in large part be transferred elsewhere with no corresponding benefit to the British Empire.
