Do you know of any such sale? I did. I am in business as

commission agent and receive commission from Sinnecker, a German.

When I received the commission a contract was typewritten between

Sinnecker and myself. Two others were present as witnesses.

First of all, what was the contract for? It was a contract

for second hand 15,000 Mauser rifles.

Were you to buy or sell? I was to sell them and receive a

commission of 10%.

The Contract.

Where was the contract signed? It was signed in my house.

Who drew up the contract? I don't know.

Who produced the contract? Sinnecker.

Who were the two other persons? Mr Crool an American citizen

and Rheinardt a German subject.

What connection had they with the contract? They had none.

They were witnesses only.

What were they doing in your house? Rheinardt came with

Sinnecker and they were already in my house at the same time as

Crowl was there. Mr Lewis, one of the accused has handed to

the court a certain list of arms he was prepared to sell on

behalf of Morrison, for whom he was agent. The list says

21,000 German rifles 1888 pattern, with 500 rounds of ammunition

for each. Do you recognise these as the same lot?

No, they were 15,000 second hand Mausers.

The difference between these arms were that the rifles were of

1888 pattern? Yes, I understand it was Morrison who was selling

Hany ang rifles.

The Chinese who said he was acting for Morrison made a statement

in Court of 21,000 German rifles.

Do you know the principals?

Sinnecker was the principal for the sale of the 15,000 rifles.

Revolvers.
