The trial of the seven Chinese on a charge of conspiring together to traffic in arms without a Municipal licence, was concluded in the Mixed Court yesterday, before

Mr Grant Jones, British Assessor, and Magistrate Yu.

Mr K.E.Newman appeared for the prosecution, with him

Mr G.D.Musso, who watched the case on behalf of the Chinese Government, Mr Fessenden represented Woo Yung-kwang,

Mr H.D. Rodger for Taoong Teang-ling.

Mr Rodger, at the outset, said that as his client was employed at Emens and Co. an American firm, the American Assessor should sit on the case.

The Assessor: You object to jurisdiction?

Mr Rodger: Yes.
