"A Hankow despatch states that much discussion has be

"been aroused in the city owing to the fact that a German

"firm of the port - Melchers and Co. - has since 3eptember last

*been engaged in the manufacture of Khaki uniforma, employing

*for this purpose 300 tailors; 70,000 suits have been

"completed. The German firm is said to forward the uniforms

"to Germany, addressed to the deman Red Cross Society".

UNITED STATES TROUPS IN TH; PACIFIC.

The Honolulu Star Bulletin" of the 5th November

states that, within a year, accommodation for 12,000

additional soldiers will be erected at DARU (Sandwich Islands)

and in less than two years more than 20,000 men will be

stationed on the Island,
