I am commanded by the Army Council to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No 60040/1915 dated 4th January 1916
enclosing a copy of a telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong
to the Secretary of State for the Colonies relating to the
possibility of a request for troops for the defence of
Shameen.
In reply I am to say that the matter is still under
consideration and that as soon as a decision is arrived at
a further communication will be addressed to you.
