With reference to your letter (58953) of the 27th
December last, I am directed by Mr. Secretary Samuel to
forward, herewith, for the information of Mr. Secretary
Bonar Law, a copy of a Police Report with reference to
John Hinton otherwise Heckrath, from which it will be
seen that this man has admitted the offence of opium
smuggling, and has paid a fine of £500.
