The sanitary supervision of the men en route is entrusted to the Supreme Chief of the sanitary and Svacuation Department, and, under him, to the 741 Railway Emigration, Government and Provincial
authorities.
Frevious to departure, the men are to be subjected to medical examination and, if necessary, observation
and to preliminary vaccination. Prior to the lapse of the term for which they were hired, the men may be transferred to other under- taking only with the consent of the person hiring them and of the local Government authorities.
On the lapse of the tem of employment, the consent of the local Government authorities is required before the men can be transferred to other eye-
mento.
These regulations are to apply also to the retur journey of the men.
An Inter-Departmental Conference will decide dis- putes and questions arising from the application
of these regulations.
