My Lord,
I have the honour to inform you that on the
26th September I confirmed an order for the deportation
to India of seven Indians, their names being Pooran Singh,
Kher Singh, Gulam Haidar, Ahmed Khan, Badir Din, Bishen
Singh, and Sewa Singh.

The men were afrested in an empty room by the
local police and charged before the magistrate with being
guilty of conduct likely to lead to a breach of the peace.
The evidence satisfied him that they were members of the
Ghadr party met together to further the aims of that arty, and he bound them over to keep the peace in the sum Dollars Two hundred and fifty each, a not unreasonable sun in all the circumstances. Satisfactory sureties not being forthoming he made an order for their deportation, which after careful consideration of his report and after celling on the men, who had nothing valid to allege against it, I confirmed. There were in all twenty four men present at the meeting and those who are to be deported were indicat-

ed by the officers of the Sikh branch of the
Force as being the readers. The others were bound over
