RECO REG 28 MUG 16
+
I am directed by Viscount Grey of Fallodon to
state that in execution of an order from Messrs.
James Morrison and Company, Mesurs. Burmester and
Wain of Copenhagen have manufactured seven crank
shafts and two boxes of bolts for the same for the
Hong Kong and Whampoa Dock Company,›
In consequence of difficulties raised by the Danish Government in regard to the export of such goods to belligerent countries, it has been arranged
that these shafts and bolts should in the first i...-
stance be consigned to Messrs. Hartmann of Christiania,
who will then re-export them in their own name to
Hong Kong. The goods will therefore not be accompanied
by the usual Consular Certificate of Origin, since
it is impossible for His Majesty's Consul at
Christiania to certify himself to their non-eneny
origin, though this is in fact the case.
Lord Grey would suggest that the authorities at
Hong Kong should be instructed to admit these par-
ticuler goods without requiring the production of a
Consular Certificate of Origin.
I am,
sir.
The Under Secretary of State
Colonial Office.
Your most obedient,
humble Servant.
