Enclosed in this correspondence is copy of a long
Protest, undated, addressed by German fims in Hong-kong to the German Government regarding the compulsory liquidation of German and Austrian firms by the British Authorities.
Among the enclosures are two Bank ass Books of the Shanghai firm's account with the Deutsche Asiatische
Bank.
Austrian and German traders in the Far East are demanding an indemnity estimated at the capital vaule of the average profit made during the past ten years with interest at 6 making a total of about seventeen times the average annual profit before the war.
The original letter which is dated 29/4/16 is with the Postal Censor numbered as above.
